Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Graham went as a duck. He wore the outfit and duck feet but no hat with the beak on it. And he ran....he ran alot. We went to our fabulous friends house to trick or treat and we made it all the way around their subdivision before we had to stop. He did pretty good; we made it up to 5 people's door and got candy. Other than that, he ran and ran and ran.

The first time he tried trick or treating. He made it up their sidewalk, but then turned around and ran back.

Actually on some one's front porch...he climbed up there all by himself!

He actually talked to the first person. Good news: he knew he was a duck. Bad news: he thought Graham was a girl. But, we made it to the front porch. Progress!

His feet got wet, so he started making duck prints when he walked...it was so cute.

Again, we made it up the stairs to the porch.

And then, he banged on the door!! The nice lady came and gave him a treat. This was the last time he made it on the porch. He did really great!

Back down once he got his treat and back to running around.

On the way back to their place, Graham asked Brett and me to carry him for a little bit. Out little duck was tired.

Once back and out of his duck suit, we played with Harvey through the windows. Graham loved it and it kept him entertained. We also emptied a candy bowl and filled it up about 50 times too. Overall, he did great trick or treating.

pumpkin patch

On our way to a local church pumpkin patch on Sunday. The church has a courtyard that they fill with pumpkins and it is close and so nice; we love it. We went last year after a disappointing time at an actual farm, so we knew we were going back this year. It did not disappoint. It was great! Graham brought all the essentials you need for a pumpkin patch: the #1 and a car. Both were dropped immediately upon entering the pumpkin area.

The first thing he did was start picking up every pumpkin he could. It was so cute.

See what I mean? He totally went for the pumpkin that was green and covered in weird bumps. He was a fan of this one.

Then he found the straw...his explored this for a few minutes, and did not put any in his mouth!

We had to stop looking at pumpkins and check out the cars driving by.

I thought this would be a great photo. I asked Brett to put Graham in the middle of a bunch of pumpkins for a cute photo. All Graham tried to do was step on the pumpkins...which would have ended badly had Brett not been so quick with the catch!

Finally, we found the smaller ones that were perfect Graham size. Unfortunately, these pumpkins looked like balls, so Graham was throwing these around. How do you explain to a little boy that the small, round pumpkin is a pumpkin and not a ball to throw?

These pumpkins were even smaller than the last. He is a fan of this size. These are the ones were carried around with us all day on Monday while doing errands.

It was not enough to look at the display of pumpkins out, we had to go to source and get them straight from the box!

But this time when running, he held a smaller one in his hand, like he was training for a pumpkin race or something.

We had such a great time at the pumpkin patch. We ended up with one big one for Brett and me, 6 little ones that Graham picked out and a cool looking gourd. Yeah for pumpkins!

Once up there, he starts talking smack about how he got up there and you didn't. He uses his arms a lot while he talks.

Working his way back down. Usually we have to help him with this, but he is learning to do it himself.

All done, feet back on the ground. You can call me Graham. Mr. Independent!

19 months

Graham is 19 months old today...and we had a great one! He was in an excellent mood, except for the falling off the couch. We acted silly with mommy's scarf on the couch. Look at those teeth! And that hair! It is so long...maybe we should get it cut soon?

Graham was laying back on me on the couch so I snapped a quick one. I think he wanted a snack with this face....he always wants a snack!

He is getting really great at mimicking Brett and myself with words. Somethings he can say now are:

He can blow kisses, give high five's, dance and roll his trucks like no other. He is a big fan of his pal Buddy, the orange dinosaur, and he loves to read his dinosaur ABC book that has Buddy in it. He makes us go get Buddy out of his crib when he reads his book. He is totally into pumpkins and carried two with us today on our errands. He is waving hello and talking to everyone, and when I say talking, I really mean yelling. We have to work on his inside voice. He knows nap time and night night time and goes to his crib ready to get his sleep on. He loves taking his socks off and he loves Mickey Mouse Club House. He is really into, and I mean really into, pulling all the flaps out of the lift the flaps books...thank goodness he only has two of those books, because now they are just books, no more flap lifting. He is climbing the coffee table now, either from the floor or the couch, so we are thinking about rearranging. He loves to hug his stuffed animal friends and he makes Brett and I give them kisses. He can correctly point out his mouth, feet, and wiener, and he sometimes think his nose is his mouth. He loves sitting in laundry baskets and "helping" me fold laundry. We compete with clothes by seeing who can make a bigger pile; surprisingly, he wins these competitions. He loves cars and trucks and loves to watch them drive by our house. He loves leaf piles and walking through them. He is utterly fantastic. And I can't believe he is 19 months!!

By far, my favorite photo of the night. Graham is splashing a ton, you can see it on the bathroom wall, and I love Brett's expression. We both make that face when he splashes and somehow, Graham knows this face and makes more splashes. I love how excited he is too. Pure Joy!
